Final conference of the project Development of a New Tourism Product „Eco-Ethno Centre Adica" – Vukovar

Final conference of the project Development of a New Tourism Product „Eco-Ethno Centre Adica" – Vukovar, financed by EU fund IPA IIIC was held on 31 January 2012 in Adica Centre.

Guests attending the conference were addressed by the mayor of the City of Vukovar, Mr. Zeljko Sabo, Head of the Department of Economy, EU projects and International cooperation, and Project Coordinator Mr. Dragan Njegić, and Adviser to the Minister of Tourism of the Republic of Croatia Mr. Ivo Basic.

In their speeches, guest speakers have highlighted great importance of this Project and have thanked to all project partners and associates, service providers, contractors and to all employees of the town administration who have participated in the Project and have contributed to successful implementation of the Project.

Project was presented by Kristina Glumac and Ivana Zujić, associates on the Project.

The goal of the Eco-Ethno Centre Adica is to contribute to development and improvement of tourism-related offer of the town of Vukovar, and with its content the Centre offers restaurant and vine cellar, porch for presentation of autochthon products of Slavonia and Srijem, as well as premises for workshops in traditional handcrafts and locker-rooms for sport activities.

Potential beneficiaries of the Centre are small and medium sized enterprises from Vukovar; attendees of the workshops and unemployed people from Vukovar. The City of Vukovar has recently published Call for interest for potential investors, who are interested to start their businesses in Eco-Ethno Centre Adica. During the final conference, certificate of completion were awarded to all attendees of trainings held during the Project.

Implementation of the Project has started on 10 December 2010 and has lasted for 14 month. The total cost of the Project is EUR 781,777.55, out of which European Union funds the Project with non-refundable amount of EUR 585,394.99.

It is important to highlight that the Central Finance and Contracting Agency has included this Project among examples of successful implementation of the EU funded project in Croatia.

Tourist train arrived in Vukovar

On December 21st, tourist train from Austria has arrived in Vukovar. Procurement and supply of the tourist train is one of the final activities of the City of Vukovar on the implementation of the project Development of a new tourism product "Eco-Ethno Centre Adica" – Vukovar, financed from the EU pre-accession fund IPA IIIc.

Tourist train, which is currently located in the center of the town, has already delighted passengers, and will certainly enhance tourism offer and contribute towards development of the tourism in the City of Vukovar.

Eco Ethno Centre Adica – Vukovar Utilities Infrastructure Construction

The contract to build public utility infrastructure Eco Ethno Centre Adica - Vukovar was signed on 17 June 2011 with the most successful tenderer Eurco Corporation. Infrastructure works started 20 June 2011 and are carried out within the project Development of a New Tourist Product Eco Ethno Centre Adica - Vukovar. The project is funded by the European Union, under the IPA IIIC program, and by the Town of Vukovar.

Latest results and figures

Infrastructure: Built 625 m sewer pressure pipe, 840 m of gravity pipelines, gas connection, 58 on-site parking spaces (4 for disabled persons), 2918 m2 of asphalt pad, 580 m2 of reconstructed existing paved surface, 261 m2 of new asphalt pavements, kids playground, 633 m of major roads, 2413 m of tracks, 83 park settees and 83 litter bins ...

Park rehabilitation: Planted 2400 m2 new grass, 140 trees and 230 shrubs. 

Opening conference of the project Development of a new tourism product “Eco-ethno centre Adica” - Vukovar

Opening conference of the project Development of a new tourism product "Eco-ethno centre Adica" - Vukovar was held today in hotel Lav in Vukovar, where the project goals, activities and expected results have been presented.

Introductory speech was given by mayor of the town of Vukovar, Mr. Zeljko Sabo, after which project coordinator, Mr. Dragan Njegic has given introduction to the presentation. Project presentation was given by Jelena Briševac and Kristina Glumac, project associates.

The opening conference was attended by representatives of the City of Vukovar, Vukovar-Srijem County, Croatian chamber of commerce – county commerce Vukovar, Tourist Board Vukovar, Association of Crafts Vukovar, Eco-cultural Alliance Vukovar, representatives of public institutions etc.

Conference was successfully held with approximately 80 attendees.
